Florida 2013

Hey everyone! I just recently got back from a two-week trip to Orlando, Florida and I haven't posted for three months (mostly due to having nothing to post about) so I decided I would fill you in about the goings-on of my holiday.

After the flight, we went straight to the resort, got changed, had some food, and then went to bed. Only after we'd checked for free Wi-Fi of course (which, might I add, we did have).
Once I'd had about four hours of sleep and woke up at 6 in the morning wide awake because of my body clock still being in UK time, I went downstairs with my Mum to go and see my aunt, uncle and cousin in their hotel room before we all went on the boats they have to Downtown Disney. We went around a few of the shops and then on the balloon ride which was fun. The view was pretty.

By 11am, we decided it was too hot and went back to the resort. I'd definitely recommending going to Downtown Disney (soon to be called Disney Springs, according to one of the boat drivers) at night when it's cooler. The atmosphere is brilliant and all the shops are lit up. And you'll get to see a volcano in action.

We then went to evening parade at the Magic Kingdom, only for it to be cancelled as it started to thunder and lightning soon followed. We got a picture of the castle illuminated at night time though, and it was magical.

We then went to Magic Kingdom again the next day to go on the rides and saw some of the afternoon parade instead.

Fast forward a few days and we are at Planet Hollywood looking at all the costumes and I got a few photos of them. I might post them in a separate post as I don't want this post to end up being too long. Off the top of my head, I managed to get photos of Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio's costumes from Titanic along with a few props from the film. I also got a photo of the Iron Patriot's armour from Iron Man 3. We had a lovely meal at Planet Hollywood too... I had some carbonara. Yum.
We then ended up going to the mall which we didn't realise would be full of high-end designer shops which we couldn't afford. The only affordable one was Forever 21.

We went to the Typhoon Lagoon water park, and then went to Universal Studios. Not on the same day, of course. We ended up going to Universal twice. I loved it. The rides there were incredible. I took waaaaaaaay too many photos there, particularly of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

If anyone ever goes to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, definitely go on The Forbidden Journey ride. I won't spoil it for you, but it definitely brings the magic of Harry Potter to life as you'll see if you go on the ride. In my opinion, and everyone else I went on it with, it's the best ride there. My Mum wouldn't stop complimenting it. It was great.
Also, I caved and couldn't resist buying a wand from Ollivanders. I bought Hermione's, of course. Girl power.

I'm going to stop now before I talk too much and this posts gets too lengthy, so that concludes a few of the main points about my trip to Florida. I'll post later about meeting some Disney characters at Epcot and a sweaty trip to Hollywood Studios.

Have you ever been to Orlando? Tell me about your holiday in the comments!
